29-89 Dragonfly Embroidered Sarong
A sarong is a simple piece of 100% rayon cloth that has been highly decorated by batik, tie-dye or silk screen. It measures 66 inches by 42 inches not including the tassels. It can be worn a number of ways and can be used as a top, dress or skirt. Some folks use them as unique curtains, tablecloths, altar cloths, or wall decor. The possibilities are many! Here's a few examples (illustrated below, along with detailed photo of cloth):
A. Hold the sarong with the length falling towards the floor. Tie the ends you are holding behind your neck. Then, grab the sarong by the sides, three quarters of the way down the length, and tie the extra fabric at the small of the back for a short dress.
B. Wrap the length of the sarong around you with the opening in the front and cross the two top corners, tying them behind your neck.
C. Wrap the length of the sarong around you with the opening just under one arm. Cross the two top corners of the sarong under your arm and tie on top of the shoulder.
D. Wrap the length of the sarong around you with the opening at the front. Tie the two top corners into a tight knot above the chest and then tie the remaining slack behind the neck.
E. Use one sarong as a halter top by folding the width into fourths, then wrapping the length around your back and crossing the bosom. Then, tie the ends behind your neck. Using a second sarong, with the length falling to the floor, tie the width at the hip. Alternately (as pictured) fold some of the length over at the waist to show off any tassels.
F. Tie the top as shown in picture E. Then, folding the length of the sarong in half with the tassels hanging towards the floor, tie at the hip for a short skirt. Alternately, if you are fuller figured, wrap the length of the sarong around your hips with the tassel creating a fun slit.
G. Wrap the length of the sarong around you, tying the corners at the top of the bosom. Pass the hanging length through the legs, towards the front and tie these two corners behind your back This will create a little, bare belly jumpsuit. Alternately, wrap an additional sarong on top, tying at the center or at the side.
H. Let the length of the sarong fall to the floor and wrap the width around you with the opening at the side. Tie the top two corners, just beside the arm. Then, pulling some slack from further down the length, tie another knot at the hip. Alternately, tie a third knot further down to keep the slit closed.
